Winter sports in the Region of Karlovy Vary

The Region of Karlovy Vary is perfect for winter sports, and winter sports are perfect for firming up the relationships in a collective. The town of Karlovy Vary is located in the foothill the Ore Mountains (Krušné hory) and it does not take long to drive to the cross-country trails, downhill skiing slopes and other winter sports facilities. The winter sports resorts are located also further away in the Ore Mountains and beyond.

Cross-country skiing

The "Ore Mountains Highway" and the cross-country skiing trails connecting with it offer the lovers of cross-country skiing hundreds of kilometres of maintained trails. The best snow conditions are there from December to March.

Downhill skiing

The ski resorts in the Ore Mountains offer tens of kilometres of maintained slopes as well as various services. Besides the ski rental and servicing shops, there are also refreshment stalls and restaurants, ski and snowboard schools etc. Some resorts also offer popular snow-parks.
