Jan Becher Museum Karlovy Vary

The building of the Jan Becher Museum is the original production facility of this original Karlovy Vary liquor. Even though the production itself has been moved to another location, you can still see the unique space designated for production, distribution, and storage of the Becherovka liquor. A tasting of the liquor and a short film showing are part of the tour as well, besides many items related to Becherovka.

The Thun Nová Role porcelain factory

The porcelain manufacturing in the Region of Karlovy Vary has had a long tradition. The company Thun 1794 a. s. has been one of the world-famous traditional producers, and it is one of the biggest Czech porcelain producers today. The tour will take you from the gallery and sample room to the production floors where you can see the process of porcelain making from the beginning to the end.

The glass factory of Moser Karlovy Vary

The Moser glass factory is another of the traditional producers. The glass and glass products manufacture tradition started in 1857. The history of the famous company and production development is presented in the Moser Glass Museum. The visitors can also tour the glass production floor, where they can see not only how the glass items are made, but they can try glass blowing themselves.

Tour of the Hot Spring's underground

The Hot Spring, the hottest of the Karlovy Vary mineral springs, is also one of the town's symbols. You can go discover its secrets to its underground.

A popular tour leads through the underground, presenting the process of applying stone to the traditional Karlovy Vary souvenirs, thermal water springs, rare organisms living in places washed by the spring water, sinters and aragonites collection and other items of interest.

Mining monuments of the Ore Mountains

The mining monuments help map over 800 years of history of mining and processing of ores in the Ore Mountains, which has been taking place here due to the extraordinary variety of these raw materials. Several of these monuments have been made accessible to the public recently. The Johannes and Kryštof mineshafts are among the most important.

  • Mineshaft Johannes
    The Mineshaft Johannes is an exceptionally well-preserved complex of historic mines where the miners of old excavated unique underground chambers of gigantic dimensions. It is located near Boží Dar in the Zlatý kopec mine district. The tour will let you walk through its 500-year history in 2 hours.
  • Mauritius Mine and Mineshaft Kryštof
    The Mauritius Mine at Hřebečná is the largest tin mine in the Ore Mountains and now it is a national cultural monument. It was in operation for almost 400 years. The tour starts with the Kryštof mineshaft. The 400 m long trail contains 9 stops informing about the hand digging of mines and other methods used for expanding, ventilation and draining the shafts, etc. The tour also includes a film showing.
