Františkovy Lázně
Františkovy Lázně is a town of gardens with greenery and parks taking up as much space as architecture. That is why it may be searched after as an ideal place for medium-size and smaller-size MICE events.
- Established: in 1793. The original name of the municipality, the Village of Emperor Franz, was changed to Františkovy Lázně ("Franzensbad") in 1807. It was declared a town in 1865.
- Altitude: 450m above sea level
- Climate: sub-mountainous
- Natural rarity: mineral springs with a high CO2 content, sulphuric-iron peat-bog, national nature reserve SOOS – a peat bog with abundant mineral water springs, fumaroles ("mud volcanoes") and diatomite shield. Komorní hůrka – the youngest active volcano in Central Europe.
- Monuments of architecture: Classicist, Empire, Historicizing, Art Nouveau. The historical core of Františkovy Lázně was declared a Municipal Monument Zone in 1992
- Important events: Music Summer, Johann Strauss Week
